Description

Golden Gate Washed Rind Triple Crème Cheese is part of our California Originals line, crafted for the discerning palate of modern cheese enthusiasts. A luxurious triple crème, this washed rind cheese is hand-washed with brine throughout its 14-day aging process, allowing the unique coastal cultures to thrive. Inspired by the iconic hues of the Golden Gate Bridge, this cheese transitions from a semi-soft, fudgy texture when young to a rich, umami experience as it matures. With earthy undertones and vegetal aromas, the Golden Gate is a true representation of its terroir, offering a flavor profile that is both savory and unforgettable.

INGREDIENTS

Pairing
WINE WINE
Opt for an earthy Pinot Noir or a less ripe-fruit-forward wine to complement its intense flavors. If you prefer something fruity, a dry hard cider can harmonize beautifully with the cheese's funkiness.
BEER BEER
This washed rind cheese pairs wonderfully with a range of beers. It can hold its own against bold IPAs and hoppy ales, as well as those with woodsy flavors and spicy notes.
CHEESEBOARD FAVORITES CHEESEBOARD FAVORITES
Serve Golden Gate at room temperature to fully appreciate its aroma and taste. It pairs excellently with crunchy bread, charcuterie, nuts, and fresh vegetables. For a delightful twist, try it with savory onion jam on dark rye bread, accompanied by an herbaceous gin cocktail.
STAFF PICKS STAFF PICKS
Elevate classic dishes by incorporating this cheese. Consider a Tartiflette, layering it with potatoes, onions, and bacon, or create a loaded baked potato topped with melted Golden Gate for a decadent treat.

How long should the cheese be out of the fridge before serving?

It is best to leave your cheese out 30-60 minutes prior to serving for optimal flavor and texture.

There is white mold on my Petite Breakfast. Is this safe to eat?

Petite Breakfast is safe to eat even if there is some white mold on the outside. The cheese briefly shares an aging space with our older Brie cheeses and may pick up some of the  cultures that form their rind. It can be enjoyed as is or, if you prefer, you can trim off the white rind.
