Camembert French Bread
- 1-4 oz. Rouge et Noir Camembert
- 1 loaf sour French bread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
Combine cheese, butter, basil and onion salt in a saucepan and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, or until thoroughly blended, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes, or until mixture starts to thicken, stirring occasionally.
Slice bread in half lengthwise. Spread cheese mixture on cut surfaces of bread. Put loaf together and spread remaining mixture on top and sides of loaf. Set loaf in pan of foil and bake 5 minutes.
Slice and serve hot
