Nationally and Internationally Recognized for Excellence

Starting with modest third place awards in American Cheese Society Competitions of the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Rouge et Noir cheese makers began taking major honors for category and placement in 1996, and achieved a pinnacle of success by beating the French in the “World Cheese Awards” Competition in Excel, London 2005.  In addition Marin French Cheese Company won the Gold for the “Marin Chevre Blue” in the “New Cheese - Blue” category.  The third Gold award was received by the  Rouge et Noir brand “Yellow Buck Chevre”.  This is actually a trophy award; America’s National Trophy” - “Best American Cheese 2005”.

Now in 2006 Marin French Cheese Co. earned 16 awards in the American Cheese Society International Competition and 6 Medals in the “World Cheese Awards” Competition.

We like to say that “Marin French Cheese Co. is the History and Future of California Artisan Cheese production”.  These awards prove that Marin French continues to hold the highest standards of Hand Made Artisanal Cheese production and maintains the highest standards of quality.
